TILLIE C. RICKER (nee PROBIZANSKI) Peacefully, after a lengthy and courageous battle with lung cancer, it is with deep regret that we announce the death of our mother and grandmother, Tillie of Winnipeg, MB, on Sunday, July 30, 2006 at the Riverview Health Center at the age of 71 years. Left to mourn Tillie's passing are her son William Wayne Ricker; daughter Lynn (Wayne) Davis; granddaughters, Camille Wilson (Ed) and Carmen Davis; brothers, Walter (Evelyn) Probizanski, Myron (Marie) Probizanski and Fred Probizanski; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her father and mother, Wasyl and Mary Probizanski, and son Peter Ricker. Mom retired from the City of Winnipeg Accounting Dept. in 1995. Some of her many achievements were a single mother of two, going to school and getting a certificate in accounting. While working three jobs to support her family, Mom loved to do crafts, gardening, travel and play the occasional bingo, but her main passion was to look after her family and friends. Prayers will be sung on Friday, August 4 at 7:00 p.m. in St. Basil's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 202 Harcourt St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday, August 5 at 10:30 a.m. in Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church, Stuartburn, MB. with Rev. Fr. Gregory Zubacz officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Parish Cemetery, Stuartburn, MB 1/2 mile south of the church. Reception will follow in Stuartburn Hall. Honorary pallbearers will be Walter Probizanski, Myron Probizanski and Fred Probizanski. Active pallbearers will be Camille Wilson, Ed Wilson, Carmen Davis, Kelly Seawards, Shawn McRae and Douglas Probizanski. A very special Thank-You to the doctors and staff at CancerCare Manitoba, doctors and staff at the Riverview Health Center and to her many wonderful friends and family.
