AGANETHA LOEWEN (nee WIENS) On Monday, July 31, 2006, at the age of 98, Agnes peacefully passed away in the presence of her loved ones at Donwood Manor in Winnipeg, MB. One of 17 children, she was born in Winkler, MB to David and Katherine Wiens (Hoeppner) on November 16, 1907. She married David Bernhard Loewen on October 6, 1929. Agnes was predeceased by her husband and 12 siblings; she is survived by her two sons, Bernhard (Marg) Loewen of Phoenix, AZ; grandson Chad; and great-grandsons, Gordon and Bryan; and by her son David (Joyce) of Winnipeg; grandchildren, Patricia (Robert Spence), David (Terry) Lion, and Colleen (Greg) Shende; great-grandchildren, Eric and Krystal Spence, Derek and Alexa Lion, and Michael and Kerrie Shende. Agnes is also survived by brothers, Jake (Margaret) Wiens, John (Susan) Wiens; and sisters, Sara Thomas and Bertha Dyck. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 3, at 10:00 a.m. from the Carman Mennonite Church with Pastor Bob Pauls officiating. Interment will follow at the Greenwood Cemetery, Carman. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Donwood Manor Personal Care Home, 171 Donwood Drive, Winnipeg, MB R2G 0V9.
