Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN KATE John Kate of Kelowna, BC, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2006 at the age of 87. John was predeceased by his loving wife Katherine Hilda in June 2004. John was born on September 13, 1918 in Winnipeg, MB, worked as a millwright and married Katherine in 1970. Together they moved to Kelowna in 1980. John is lovingly remembered by son Hilton (Karen) Kate of Ladner, BC; daughter Joyce (Jim) Groat; son-in-law Jim Groat; and his granddaughters, Debbie and Colleen of Richmond, BC; great-grandchildren, Naomi and Shardyn, Ann Hallem and Geo Demetrioff of Winnipeg, MB. Dad was known for his great kind heartness and willingness to help anyone less fortunate than himself. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 5, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of First Memorial Funeral Services, 1211 Sutherland Ave., Kelowna, BC.
