ALPHEE FILLION Alphee Fillion was born Tuesday, November 18, 1930 at St. Nazaire, QC. Alphee met Flora Buck who became his companion of forty-five years. They resided in Yellowknife, NWT; Red Lake, ON, where he worked in the mine as a diamond driller for 20 years until his retirement in 1988; Edmonton, AB; Winnipeg, MB; and in the year 2000, he and Flora made The Pas their home. Alphee was a patient and kind man, with a great sense of humour. Alphee passed away Friday, July 28, 2006 at St. Anthony's Hospital, The Pas, aged 75 years. He is survived by his daughters, Yvette (Francis) Buck, Verna (Mike) Jebb Sr.; grandchildren, Jessica, C.J., Frank, Albert, Zachary, Tanya; and his brother, Emmie. Alphee was predeceased by his companion, Flora Buck, June 14, 2006; an infant twin daughter; parents, Jean Maurice Fillion and d'Lallida Fillion (nee Belanger); his brother Joseph Frenchie . A wake service was held Monday, July 31, 7:00 p.m. at the Church of Messiah, Opaskwayak Cree Nation, MB. The funeral service was held Tuesday, August 1, 11:00 a.m. the Church of Messiah, Opaskwayak Cree Nation, MB with Ven. Grahme Spear presiding. Interment at the Emmanuel Cemetery, Opaskwayak Cree Nation. Hemauer Funeral Home, The Pas, in care of arrangements.
