GARY BOCK It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Gary at the young age of 45. Gary leaves to mourn his loving wife Odette; daughters, Brittany and Lauren; his mother Emily; sisters: Donna (Hugh) Carriere, Lynda (Gil) Daoust, Patti (Mike) Bertsch, Sharon (Harry) Dufresne; and brother Jack; mother and father in-law: Hector and Marthe Desilets; sisters-in-law: Suzanne (Alan) Turner, Maureen (Ray) McCaughan, Evelynn (Brent) Richards; brother-in-law Norbert (Sherry) Desilets; as well as numerous nephews and nieces. Gary was predeceased by his father Jacob Bock in 1996. Gary was born and raised in St. Francois Xavier, MB. He went to elementary school in St. Francois Xavier and attended high school at St. Paul's Collegiate in Elie. He later pursued his career as a metal fabricator at Valmar Airflo Inc. for 20 years. In 2000, Gary pursued his life long dream of starting his own business, GB Metalworks. He was a hardworking and talented man who was recognized for being the first metal fabricator to build the aluminum york boats for Norway House. Everyone knew Gary as a humble person who never looked for recognition for his accomplishments but his family was always proud of his achievements. One of Gary's greatest personal achievements was building his family home in SFX. Gary loved working outside; fixing up his yard, be it cutting the grass or trimming the trees, he always took great pride in his home. He was an easy-going man who loved the simple pleasures of life and made friends everywhere he went. He lived life to the fullest. He enjoyed entertaining his friends and family by having a weekly bonfire and the occasional firework show. He always said: If you see smoke, go towards it. He also loved to spend time at Victory Lanes Speedway both as a spectator and sponsor. Gary's life motto was: Why walk when you can drive? Gary was always seen driving his golf cart, or his snowmobile, or his lawnmower, or his truck. Gary was always lending a helping hand. If you had a problem, he would either fix it for you or build something better for you to use. He would never pass up an opportunity to help a friend. His generosity was endless and something you could always count on. Gary was extremely fond of his family; his girls were his pride and joy. He loved spending his time with his family by taking them on strolls on the golf cart to the store or to the Jones' for ice cream. Gary will always be remembered as a loving and compassionate husband, devoted father, a giving son, great brother and uncle and will be truly missed by everyone who knew him. A celebration of Gary's life will take place on Tuesday, August 8, at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Children's Wish Foundation in Gary's name. Brittany's notes: (If you seen him walking, he had probably run out of gas) Arrangements entrusted to: Chapel Lawn Funeral Home 885-9715
