MARK J. GRIPP On August 3, 2006, at the age of 79, Mark's final journey was made and to welcome him Home was the Saviour that he loved sincerely. He was predeceased by his parents, Emil and Erna Gripp; brother Waldemar; sister Lily and brother-in-law Abe. Left to cherish his memory are his much loved wife of 53 years, Rose; sons, Stan (Janice) and Roger; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He will also be dearly missed by his two sisters, Hilma and Agnes (Sam); brother Earl (Selma); sister-in-law Melita; and many nephews and nieces. Mark's life was dedicated to full time ministry starting on the mission fields of French Sudan, Africa (now Mali) with his wife Rose. Mark and Rose loved to sing and were involved with the French Canadian radio program Le Chant Joyeux and a worldwide French broadcast of Back to the Bible. Their records in French, German and English have been a blessing to many people around the world. Mark also served as Executive Director and Crusade Director for Barry Moore and he and Rose served together as a Chaplain couple with Reimer Express Lines before he retired in 1995. Mark suffered a massive stroke in 2002 and courageously battled to recover his mobility and strength. During the last four months, Mark was also diagnosed with leukemia which ultimately took its toll. Many thanks are extended to the compassionate and caring staff and doctors at Concordia Hospital where Mark spent the greater part of the last four years of his life. Even during these difficult days, Mark continued to be a blessing and a witness to those who he came into contact with. The family is comforted to know that Mark has now met his Saviour face to face and heard the words Well done thou good and faithful servant .
