ANNE HARASYMCHUK It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Anne on Saturday, August 5, 2006 at St. Boniface Hospital. She will be remembered and lovingly missed by son Larry (Colleen); daughters, Jo-Anne (Sheldon) and Darlene (Harry); and grandchildren, Shaun, Raymond and Anna. She is also survived by her sister Ollie Lys, brother Bill Lys, sister-in-law Sophie, and many nieces, nephews, cousin Millie, and many good friends. She was predeceased by her husband John in 2001; her parents; Anna and John Lys; brother Steve; sisters-in-law Alfreda, Mary, Ollie, Anne and Rita; and brother-in-law Bill. Anne was born in Chotylub, Ukraine on June 1, 1924 and came with her mother to Canada to join her father in East Kildonan and has resided there up until her passing. Mom was a very special person, with a kind and generous heart, a devoted mother, and Baba who loved her family dearly. She loved her dog Ernie with all her heart. Mom was a private person who respected and cared about her many friends. She worked at Eatons on Portage Avenue for over 30 years. Anne was a lifetime member of Holy Eucharist Church and the Women's League. Mom loved helping out with the perogy group, as well as her trips to the casino. The family would like to express their thanks to all the doctors, staff and home care aides for all their care. Special thanks to Penny and Amanda. Also special thanks to Alex (Health Sciences Centre), Sandy (St. Boniface Palliative Care) and Florence for all their help, care and concern. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 9, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church, Munroe Avenue and Watt Street, with Fr. M. Winn officiating. A private family interment will follow at a later date. Pallbearers will be Dan Dubesky, Ihor Hewryk, Orest Hewryk and Harry Pubben. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba.
