Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELSIE NYCHYK December 24, 1936 - August 5, 2006 It is with deep sadness that our family must announce that our Mom and Baba has passed. Elsie was born and raised in North Battleford/Whitkow, SK. During her life journey, her feet carried her from a one room school house to a computer flat screen - and she lived every one of those steps to the fullest. Her smile could light up your whole world. We will never be able to count the lives she touched. From handing out cookies and throwing dances at Weston Community Centre; to feeding whole hockey teams in her living room; to gently caring for her patients in her 30 years at the Health Sciences Centre. Her goodness and grace have touched so many. And many are there that call her Mom. Mama Nip-Mama Nych. Mama opened her heart and home to friends and family one and all. So very many have shared laughter beneath her roof. Mom was our biggest fan. All through the years at every game hockey, baseball, soccer, from Gord to David to Taylor and Owen. A first pie crust, a first jar of pickles, the first note we played. There was Mom. Cheering us on. She was our rock. Our Mom. Our Baba. And our greatest role model. And ever will remain so. Her own courage taught all of us to be brave. Not only to reach for the stars, but to love the journey there. Elsie's journey made the trip more beautiful for all of us. Elsie was predeceased by her loving husband Gordon Nychyk (1980); her parents, Minnie and John Goyan; Gordon's parents, Mike and Nellie Nychyk; and by her nephew Darrell Yuzik. Mom's love will always be with her children, Gord, Lori, Lindsay and Kyle; David, Wanda, Taylor and Owen; and Sonia. Also by brothers and sister- Julian and Shirley; Ivannia and Paul; Myron and Linda; Dad's family, Zinnia and Peter; Vera and George; Roman and Elaine; and many nieces and nephews; as well as her best friends, Marlene and Cliff and all who called her MOM. Prayers will be held Thursday August 10, and Thomson Funeral Chapel- 669 Broadway at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place Friday, August 11, at Holy Trinity Cathedral- 1174 Main St. at 11:00 a.m. with burial following at the Brookside Cemetery. It was then that I carried you. Wiebe Funeral Homes Ltd. Winkler - Morden 1.204.325.4201 www.wiebefuneralhomes.com
