CATHERINE (KAY) PHILLIPS (nee FARACO) 1917 - 2006 Peacefully after a lengthy illness, Kay passed away on August 6, 2006, at Riverview Health Centre at the age of 89 years. She was predeceased by husband Anthony (Tony) in 1982, as well as by brother Joe and sister Mary, and is survived by sisters, Elizabeth (Faraco) Dougherty in California and Elvira (Faraco) Magnifico in Winnipeg, along with several nieces and nephews. A resident of the Villa Cabrini for the past two years, Kay was blessed throughout her life with many loyal friends and neighbours. Feisty and independent, Kay had been in failing health for the past several years and spent her final weeks at the Riverview Health Centre. The family extends its deepest gratitude to all the medical / professional staff in the Riverview palliative ward for their devoted care to Kay. The family also extends its profound thanks to the team of WRHA home care staff who looked after Kay daily while at the Villa. A memorial service conducted by Fr. Sam Argenziano will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 14 at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Ave. (885-9715) followed by entombment in the Queen of Heaven Mausoleum, 3990 Portage Ave. (888-7557). In lieu of flowers, donations to the Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot Ave. would be appreciated.
