I can still remember when Dad and I were at the farm and I was painting Dad's horse shoes outside and I did not notice the 250 lb. brown bear just three feet away because of my bad ear and Dad called out to me to come inside. Dad got out his old navy service rifle and I thought he was going to shoot the bear, instead he pulled out his 35mm camera and took some pictures of the bear. Once I was inside the house he took a shot at the bear aiming about 2 feet in front of the bear and scared it off. Dad said it was just snooping around the house and decided to let yogi go off into the bush but he did say if yogi becomes a nuisance bear he is gonna put him down. Thanks for all you have done for me personally and for Mom and my baby sister Cathleen. I miss our coffee and toast in the morning, love you dadT - Posted by: Marc Vandale (step son but Tom was my dad) on: Mar 19, 2014
