FRIEDA VISSER Elfrieda Edith Visser (nee Funk), 64, was tragically taken from us during the tornado that occurred August 5, 2006 in Gull Lake. She is survived by her loving husband, John; her daughter Cindy (Dean) Lalchun, grandsons, Tyler and Troy; daughter Sherry Boutcher, grandchildren, Sarah and Matthew; and son John (Laura) Visser, grandchildren, Bethany and John Isaac. She is survived by her brothers and sisters, John (Mary) Funk, Wally (Marge) Funk, Mary Wiebe, Edd (Mary) Funk, Vic (Wilma) Funk and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, John and Sara Funk and her sister Elenore Schmidt. Frieda was raised in North Kildonan where she met and married John Visser in 1964. She grew up in the North Kildonan Mennonite church where she was baptized. After she was married, she joined the Christian Reformed Church with her husband. Frieda was very active in her community and volunteered at the MCC Thrift Shop two days a week. She will be sadly missed by her family and many friends. Funeral service will be held Monday, August 14 at 11:00 a.m. at Covenant Christian Reformed Church, 653 Knowles Ave., with interment in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
