CRAIG WILLIAM GIBSON, P. ENG Born in Portage la Prairie, MB on March 31, 1947, passed away August 5, 2006 after a short bout with cancer. Preceded by his mother Lakie Gibson (McCleary) 2000 and his father Bill Gibson 2005. Craig is survived by his best friend, sole mate and wife Beth; daughter Tracy Dewar, granddaughters, Michelle and Marie of Yorkton, SK; son Greg Dewar (Mari) and grandson Neo of Sapporo Japan; and brother Randy Gibson (Susan) and nephew Shane Gibson of Winnipeg, MB. Craig spent his formative years in Portage attending Prince Charles and PCI, later earning his undergraduate degree at the University of Manitoba. Craig was a longtime resident of Calgary working first in banking and later in the oil industry. He was past Master of the Masonic Order and active in the Professional Engineers and Geophysicists Association. Craig and Beth moved to Indonesia before settling in Victoria where he joined the British Columbia government. In 1998 Craig joined the B.C. Oil and Gas Commission where he was executive director of Technical Services and Regulatory Affairs Branch. Craig was an avid bicyclist, diver, photographer who enjoyed his cats. Family and friends gathered to remember Craig on August 9 at the Sands Funeral Chapel in Victoria, BC, cremation to follow.
