WINNIFRED (WINNIE) BARTHELETTE (nee PRESTIEDGE) Peacefully on Saturday, August 12, 2006 at her residence in the Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg, Winnifred Barthelette passed away at the age of 93 years. Winnie was predeceased by her husband, Albert in October of 1980. She is survived by her daughter Edith Harel of Fort SK, AB; son Willard (Josephine) Barthelette of Burnaby, BC; daughter Connie Phillips of Creighton, SK; daughter Shirley Scanlan; daughter Beverley (Grant) Wilcox; son Reginald (Mary) Barthelette. She will be missed also by her 24 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and relatives and families. Winnie was born January 30, 1913 in North Eleton, England and came to Canada with her family when she was only 3 months old. After arriving in Canada she and her family settled in Marchand, Manitoba where she met Albert Barthelette, her husband-to-be. She and Albert married August 1, 1928 and soon began their family of six children. Her husband and children were the pride of her life and their needs always came before her own. Her grandchildren loved her very much and she was always the happiest when she could spend time with them, especially if she was cooking for them. Funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 16 at Bardal Funeral Home 843 Sherbrook Street. Interment will follow at Green Acres Memorial Gardens. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of the Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg for the excellent quality of care she received over the years she resided there. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of MB. Winnie was loved and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
