ROSALIA CIRESI (nee LO CASCIO) On August 12, 2006, Rosalia Ciresi, after a lengthy illness, which she fought with courage and faith, went to be with the Lord. Rosalia was born in Palermo, Sicily, on November 11, 1924. She was the eldest of eight children and from a very young age displayed devotion and leadership in her family. She will be greatly missed by the love of her life of 60 years and best friend, Rosario, along with her sons: Salvatore (Rosa) and Giuseppe (Anna); her grandchildren: Jennifer (Paul Albert), Rosemary (Joe Cappellano), Saro (Lore Lionetti), and Christine. She is also survived by her siblings Maria, Paolo, Salvatore, Franco and sister-in-law Felicetta, as well as many nieces and nephews. Rosalia was a great woman of faith. She accepted all of her adversities because of her strong belief in the Lord. She understood and trusted the path God chose for her. We could not have asked for a more devoted, compassionate, and loving wife, mother and Nonna. Funeral service will be held at Immanuel Pentecostal Church, 955 Wilkes, on Tuesday, August 15, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Vincenzo Russo and Pastor Dustin Funk presiding. Entombment to follow at Holy Angel Mausoleum, Green Acres Cemetery, Hwy #1 E. and Navin Rd. Our Family would like to thank all of the staff at Grace Hospital for giving their utmost compassion and care to Rosalia. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 200- 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB, R3L 0K6.
