ANN MOSER It is with a sense of great loss that we announce the passing of Ann Moser ( Annetta Moser- nee Newman) on August 14, 2006. Ann was predeceased by her soul mate Sam, in 1995. She is survived by her children, Mark and Laurie, Cathy and Jeff, and Meite and Chris; as well as her grandchildren, Nathan and Elliot Moser, Benjamin, Jono, and Frannie Itzkow, and Samantha and Gabriel Bottrill. She also leaves to mourn her passing her brother Misha (Gutie) Newman; nieces and nephews Cathy Thomas, Nate Newman, Helen (Victor) and Bernard (Daniella) and Max (Leona) Pinsky, along with the numerous adoptees that she nurtured along her journey. Ann was born in Semans, SK in 1928, where life was not easy for her. At the age of five, her mother had a stroke, and her brother Nate died when she was a teen. By the time she herself became a teen, Ann was caring for her mother and taking care of the family. This was the training ground which rendered her one of the world's finest homemakers, and a nurturer who made it her purpose in life to care for others. Ann met Sam Moser in 1958, and since they both knew that it was bashert (meant to be), they married within months. Sam developed Parkinsons in 1967, and Ann cared for him over the course of the following twenty-eight years. Although they faced difficult challenges each and every day, Ann made sure to find something to celebrate each day. Ann was a strong fighter, and she faced every challenge with courage, dignity, and an appreciation for whatever good she could find in each and every situation. Ann astounded everyone she met with her positive attitude and strength throughout the years of nurturing Sam, as well as during her three years battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Ann's children were her pride and joy, and she raised each one of them to enter into helping professions. Once her children were grown up, her next task was to impart upon her grandchildren unconditional love, as well as an appreciation of beauty, a joie de vivre, the art of cooking and baking, and the importance of giving. Ann would have liked us to thank all the people - family friends and professionals - that have helped her during her courageous battle with cancer. We would like to make particular mention of the some of the extraordinary medical professionals she encountered. Thank you Dr. Lipschitz for giving us three spectacular years with a fantastic woman. These three years have allowed us to live every day as though it were the last, and so every one of them was extraordinarily special. As well, thank you Dr. Bennigan and Dr. Czakowski for your compassionate care. There were also many wonderful nurses and health care aides who made Ann's journey comfortable and even fun on occasion, thank you. The funeral will take place on August 16, at the Shaarey Zedek, Wellington and Academy, at 11:00 a.m. Shiva will be observed Wednesday through Friday evenings at 2238 West Taylor Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honour of Ann to a charity of your choice, or to one that she would have chosen - Children's Surgical Centre of Cambodia, Office of International Surgery / Sunnybrook Foundation, C/O Dr. Massey Beveridge, University of Toronto, 70 Richmond Street East, Room 315, Toronto, ON M5C 1N8.
