GRANT LAWRENCE SUCHE Peacefully, on Friday, August 11, Grant passed away at Deer Lodge Centre, his final wish and stop, after fighting a good fight. Grant was born on July 17, 1921 to parents Pat and Beatrice Suche, both deceased and raised in Argyle, MB. Grant is survived by his loving wife Lil, of 56 years, Ken and partner Eileen, Debbie, Doug and Charlene, Randy and Sherry, sister Muriel (George), three sisters-in-law, several cousins in Canada and abroad, grandsons Ryan, Kent and Brad, granddaughter Brandy and her son Dakota and daughter Jersey as well as many nieces and nephews. Grant was predeceased by daughter Linda, daughter-in-law Carole and sister-in-law Ella Magwood/Emms. Grant and his brothers Ron, Denny and Sam will now all be reunited. Grant proudly worked for Manitoba Hydro for 37 years bringing the First Pole Digging truck to Manitoba in 1950. Grant had Great Friends in the Interlake, Manitoba Hydro, Hunting, Border, Bord-Air Community Clubs, the #4 Legion and the Royal Winnipeg Rifles. Grant proudly fought in The Second World War in Holland, Belgium, France and Germany. He was there at Juno Beach on D-Day and witnessed first hand the horrors of war. Grant had been invited and returned four times, to France, the last in 2003, with his son Ken for D-Day celebrations at which time they had a private meeting with Prince Charles. Grant was full of life and energy and lived his life to the end on his own terms with honesty and integrity. We will miss him so much. Grant was a very proud Royal Winnipeg Riffle, one of the Little Black Devils . We should all thank Grant and the men and women who fought and continue to fight, so as Canadians we shall never loose our Canadian Identity or Canadian Language. If you love your freedom do thank a Veteran. The family would like to gratefully thank all Grant's caregivers, at the various hospitals; they are appreciated. A full Royal Canadian Legion service in his honour will be held at Branch #4, 1775 Portage Avenue, where Grant was a past President and a Life Member, on Wednesday August 16, at 2:00 p.m. Everyone should consider themselves a Honourary Pallbearer. Cremation has taken place and a private interment will take place at a later date. Donations gratefully accepted to Grant's final resting place, the Argyle Cemetery, Argyle, MB, for perpetual care. neil bardal inc. 949-2200
