KATHERINE MARCHUK (nee REBECK) Peacefully, with her family by her side, Katherine (Kay) Marchuk, passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2006 at the Selkirk General Hospital, at the age of 88 years. She was predeceased by her husband Peter in 1980; and is survived by her sons, Gordon (Doreen) and Harry (Marilyn); and her daughter Diane (Raymond); and also her sister Mary Abbott of Toronto. She will be greatly missed by her 15 grandchildren and 28 greatgrandchildren. Kay was born in Narol, MB in 1918. She worked for Smith Gallery's for 20 years and retired in 1983. She enjoyed attending Seniors Club, going to Bingo and travelling on weekend bus tours. Kay loved to garden and loved her flowers. Family gatherings always included lots of friends, family and food. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at the Betel Home in Selkirk and the Selkirk General Hospital for all the care and compassion. A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, August 17 at the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk. Funeral service will be held on Friday, August 18 at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 5635 Henderson Hiway in Narol. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. Nicholas Orthodox Church Fund. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
