JOHN VICTOR FRIESEN John Victor Friesen, son of Kay Friesen and the late Raymond C. Friesen, passed away in Hermosillo, Mexico, on August 9, 2006, at the age of 57. Vic leaves to cherish his memory his mother Kay, his sister Libby and husband Jim Berglund, his brother Harold and his wife Adele Bonetti. Also his nephew David (Erin) Berglund, his nieces Lisa (Kasey) Bartholomay, Katherine and Julia Friesen. Also survived by many Aunts, Uncles and cousins. Vic was born and raised in Altona, MB. He graduated from W.C. Miller Collegiate, and attended the University of Winnipeg. He worked at Friesens and was instrumental in establishing the branch in Edmonton, AB. He enjoyed, and participated in many sports. He spent many hours playing his guitar and singing, as well as composing some of his own music. He enjoyed the cottage at Moose Lake and had a passion for rug hooking. After his aneurysm and stroke, life changed greatly for him. He liked to travel and needed to be around people. Children seemed to bring him the most joy. A memorial service for Vic will be held on Thursday, August 17, 2006, in the Altona Mennonite Church, Altona, MB at 2:00 p.m. If so desired, donations in his memory may be made to M.C.C., Global Family (Mexico), 134 Plaza Drive, Winnipeg, MB, R3T 5K9.
