CATERINA GILBERTO It is with deep sadness that after a lengthy courageous battle with cancer, we announce the peaceful passing of Caterina surrounded by her loving husband, children and family on Wednesday, August 16, 2006 at the age of 76. Caterina leaves to mourn her husband of 52 years, Carmine; children Josie (Val), Geri (Nick), Don (Laura), Rocchina (Mike), Gino (Amber), Rosa and grandchildren Andy, Carmen, Cassandra, Adamo, Marcello, Marisa, Anthony, Julianna, Nicholas, Christina, Vincenzina and Caterina; sisters Maria (Vincenzo), and Antonietta (late Antonio) and numerous nieces, nephews and family in Italy. She was predeceased by her parents Rocco and Maria-Gerarda; grandchildren Isabella and Amanda; sister Assunta. Prayers will be said on Friday, August 18 at 7:30 p.m. at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 510 River Ave. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 19 at 10:00 a.m. also at the Church with Rev. Fr. Sam Argenziano as Celebrant. Entombment to follow at Waverley Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Valentino Palombi, Nicolino Ranieri, Michele Conia, Andy Palombi, Carmen Palombi and Adamo Ranieri. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Caterina's memory to CancerCare Manitoba or Health Sciences Centre, Liver Foundation (Dr. Minuk's Research).
