MARY LANPHEAR Suddenly on August 16, 2006, at the Victoria General Hospital in Victoria, BC, Mary passed away at the age of 85 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Lindsay (Beryl); granddaughters, Elizabeth (Ron) Simenik and Leticia of Winnipeg; sisters, Olive Bennett of Brandon, MB, Claudia Moon of Vancouver, BC, Audrey Kowalchuk of Tucson, AZ and brother Dan (Ida) Kowalchuk of Penticton, BC. She also leaves many cousins, nieces and nephews, and dear friends Edwin and Sheila Hipsey, Trudy Fitch and Iowan De Yaeger, who was an angel on earth to her. Mary was predeceased by her parents, John and Sandena Kowalchuk; sisters, Stefanie Karman and Anna Hooey; and brothers, William and Steve Kowalchuk. She was born on August 2, 1921 on the family farm near Rossburn, MB. Mary lived and worked in many places across Canada as well as in Trinidad and Assam, India. She spent the last 33 years enjoying the flowers and the weather in her beloved Victoria. Mary was known for her baking and cooking skills, and will be remembered for the many beautiful items of knitting, crocheting, cross-stitching and sewing she created. Cremation has taken place and in accordance with Mary's wishes, there will be no service.
