ERIKA AMANDA ROEHM Erika Amanda Roehm, 55, passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2006, in Winnipeg, MB at the Health Sciences Centre. She was born January 1, 1951 in Pulheim, Germany. She immigrated with her parents, Erwin and Leokadia Roehm, in the Fall of 1951. She leaves behind two families, the Roehms and the Hoshowskis. Predeceased by her father Erwin; survived by her mother Leokadia; and sisters, Elli Roehm, Marita Dowsett and Angela Roehm; brothers-in-law, Les Howard, Eric Dowsett and Philip Pattison; nieces, Anita, Alissa and Ashley, Lloyd, Selene, Nathalie and Larissa Dowsett, Aidan and (nephew) Aaron Pattison. Extended family and longtime care givers, of 28 years, Deanna and Morris Hoshowski. Erika worked for 32 years with Versatech Industries (originally Kinsmen Activity Program and later Arc Industries) in Winnipeg, 1966 - 1998. Erika was a ray of sunshine in our lives, a happy person who met each day with great vigor and anticipation. She possessed determination with a fierce independence that was kind-hearted, loved to travel, to listen to Elvis Presley music and be in the company of friends. Her presence and involvement each year at the Dunrea and Winnipeg flea markets created many lasting memories and friendships with people who came to know her. Both families express their thanks to the staff on the GA5 ward at the Health Sciences Centre for their compassionate care and all Erika's friends who supported her during her stay on GA5. A funeral service will be held at St. Peters Lutheran Church, 65 Walnut St., at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 22, with interment to take place at the Brookside Cemetery.
