RAYMOND (RAY) BERARD Peacefully on Saturday, August 19, 2006, surrounded by his family, Ray passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 69. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Maria (nee Pelland), his two daughters Colette (Glen) Bridgeford and Carole and his precious grandchildren Daniel and Shannon. He also leaves his brothers and sisters: Lionel, Gilberte Gail Roy, Liliane (Jos) Segal, Charles (Cécile), Camille Tony (Marian), Roger (Mona) and Sr. Emma, M.O., as well as three sisters-in-law Louise, Gracia and Adrienne. Ray is also survived by his in-laws: Simone (Edphat) Dorge, Olive (Roland) Fontaine, Julienne (Erich) Filz and Edouard Pelland; a sister-in-law Joyce Pelland. Ray was predeceased by his parents Euclide and Florestine and brothers and sisters: Mariette, Armand, Aline, Henri, Robert, Paul. He was a hairdresser for 36 years and enjoyed volunteering at St. Boniface Hospital and Taché Centre, bowling and looking after his flowers in the summer. Ray took a daily walk and liked very much going to the casino. Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 23 at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens, 455 Lagimodière Blvd. Interment of the cremated remains will follow at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. Our sincere thanks to the staff of MICU for their excellent care and compassion. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitoba Lung Association, 629 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3A 1P6 or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
