PETER SIMCOE 1934 - 2006 With deep sadness and regret we announce the passing of our dear husband, father and grandfather Peter Simcoe at the age of 72 years of Tyndall, MB. Peter is survived by his wife of 44 years Donna, son Glenn, daughter Denise McNally (Steve) and grand daughter Giselle. Also surviving are his sisters Mary Simcoe, Kay Helps (Cliff) and June Rae (Gerry), father in law George Swaluk, sisters in law Nadine Kwiatkowski (Don), and Theresa Koski as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Peter Sr. and Sophie Simcoe, brother Steve, sister Anne and mother in law Rose Swaluk. Born in the Hazelglen area Peter lived his entire life on the family farm. In addition he drove school bus for the Agassiz School Division for 27 years. Peter had a strong abiding love for the land and continued farming until he was no longer physically able. He enjoyed music, auction sales and the News , cutting wood and lunches at the Burger Factory as well as visiting family and friends. The highlight of every summer was his annual trek to the Threshermen's Reunion, he missed only two in the last 30 years. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, August 22 at 2:00 p.m. from Russell Funeral Home, Beausejour, MB with Fr. Isidore Presiding. Flowers are gratefully declined and donations in his memory may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba. The family would like to thank Dr. David Corder and the Nursing Staff of the Beausejour Hospital for their tireless efforts in taking care of Peter and easing his pain. Peacefully sleeping, resting at last His weary trials and troubles are past, In silence he suffered, in patience he bore Till God called him home to suffer no more.
