STEVEN VERMEIRE Suddenly on August 18, 2006 Steven left this world at the age of 22 years. He will be lovingly missed by his parents Terry and Evelyne Vermeire, his brother Scott (Kerilee) and his sister Amanda. He also leaves to mourn his grandparents, Marcel and Rachel Vermeire of Swan Lake and Marcel and Yvette Dufault of Somerset and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by his aunt Annette in 1988. He will be missed by his dear and close friend Ashley Pearson whom he cared for deeply. Steven will also be missed by many close friends. Be assured that he will always be present at your baseball, volleyball, sponge hockey games and parties. He loved you all. You meant the world to him. After finishing High School at C.J.S. in St. Vital, Steven worked at Western Supplies until deciding to take an electrical course at Red River. Upon completion he signed up with B.D.S Solutions and was based at the Can Gene building at the U of M and the Hydro building downtown. Steven loved listening to music, going to concerts, reading, camping with his family and friends. He traveled to numerous concerts both near and far and he loved playing his guitar. The Vermeire family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the police and paramedics who were there for Steven at the time of the accident. A special thank you also to the staff of the Victoria Hospital for their kindness and care. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, August 23, at 1:00 pm, in St. Timothy's Church, 135 John Forsyth Rd. with Father Fred Olds officiating. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, a donation can be made to CancerCare Manitoba in memory of his aunt Annette Dufault or a donation of blood in Steven's honor may be made.
