JOHN PETER GOLEMBIOSKI John Peter Golembioski passed away peacefully at the Beausejour Hospital on Saturday, August 19, 2006 at the age of 82 years. He leaves behind his loving wife of 59 years Mary; daughter Debbie Shumila (Leslie); son Ian Golembioski (Irene); son-in-law Greg Babisky; sister Eleanor Okrainec; grandchildren Lindsey, Bradley, Alexander, Lexi, Karen (Jeff), April (Owen), Jonathon (Kelly) and Mila; as well as great-grandchildren Anthony, Michael, Mercedes, Shania, Lex and Kierra; and a niece Bonnie Siemens (Dan) and great-niece Brittany. John was predeceased by his parents John and Beatrice, his daughter Melodie and two children in infancy Joan and John. J.P. was born on June 22, 1924 at his parents home in Brokenhead. He farmed with his father. He took over the family farm when his father passed away. J.P. married his true love Mary Dzioba on April 26, 1947. Together they farmed and raised their three children. Farming was J.P.'s life passion. He loved the land and worked the land up to the end. During his farming career he ventured into mixed farming including cattle, chickens, pigs, grain, hay and alfalfa. He was a self taught accordion player. He started playing with an orchestra called the Happy Valley Ramblers and later with the Star Melodiers . He played at barn dances, weddings, stags and showers, church picnics and his children's Christmas concerts. J.P.'s life revolved around his family, his wife, his children, grandchildren and his great-grandchildren. Family meant everything to him. We will cherish the memories he's left us with. The family would like to thank Dr. Corder and the staff of the Beausejour Hospital for their on going care. Flowers are gratefully declined and memorial donations in his memory may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba. Prayers will be said on Tuesday, August 22, 2006 at 7:30 p.m. from Russell Funeral Home, Beausejour, MB. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 23 at 10:30 a.m. also from the Chapel with Fr. Wesley Cwieka presiding. Interment will be in the family at the Polish National Cemetery, Beausejour, MB. Honorary pallbearers will be Louis Baumgartner, Richard Mroz and Andy Dzioba. Pallbearers will be Greg Babisky, Leslie Shumila, Jonathon Babisky, Bradley Shumila, Anthony Smorang and Michael Smorang. RUSSELL'S of Beausejour, Manitoba are in care of arrangements.
