MICHAEL (MIKE) PESCITELLI It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend Michael Pescitelli, who left us to be with his daughter Lillian, on Saturday, August 19, 2006 at the Beausejour Hospital at the age of 93 years. Mike will be forever missed by his wife Margaret of 56 years and their eight children: sons, John (Judy) and family of Delta, BC; John (Debbie) and family; Michael (Pat) and family; Randy (Cathy) and family; Jeff and family; Ivan, Steven and daughter Karen; and his one special son-in-law Ron Zalusky and family. Also left to mourn his loss are his brothers, Larry, George, Charlie, Tony and Willie and numerous nephews and nieces. Mike was predeceased by his parents, John and Rose, stepmother Anna, his siblings, Mary, Teresa, Alice, Margaret, Carrie, Fred, John, Henry and his eldest child Lillian in December of 2004. Mike was born in Toluca, IL on December 8, 1912 and moved to Canada with his family. As he grew older, he worked on the family farm until he was called to serve in the Canadian Army on August 24, 1942. Dad served in Home Defence in Vancouver, Victoria, and Prince Rupert as a gunner. Dad was given an honourable discharge on February 19, 1946 and continued on with farming. Dad started working for the Canadian Pacific Railway in May 1948. Mom and Dad were married on September 3, 1949 and resided in Molson, then moved to Beausejour in the fall of 1953, when they purchased the family farm. Dad retired from the railway in December 1976 and together, Mom and Dad continued to raise their family and enjoyed the years as our family grew. Prayers will be said on Wednesday, August 23 at 7:30 p.m. at the Sobering Funeral Chapel. Funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday, August 24 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Fr. David Brabant presiding. Interment will follow in the Parish Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his sons. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in his memory may be made to the Beausejour and District Hospital or a charity of one's choice.
