TERENCE MCGUIRK July 9, 1929 August 21, 2006 With tears from the heart, we announce that Terry's journey on earth came to an end in the arms of those who loved him the most on Monday, August 21, 2006. Cherishing his memory forever are his wife Yvette; sons, Francis (Judy), Richard (Angie) and Patrick (Lesley); daughters, Kathleen (Daniel) and Gisele (Curt); grandchildren, Sean, Erin, Keldon, Hailey, Kalin, Brent, Bruce, Kyle, Taeylor and Connor; brother Michael and sister Patsy; as well as several family members from Ireland and England. Terry was predeceased by his parents, Francis and Mary; and siblings, Peggy, Teesie, Paddy, Jack, Kathleen and Francis. Born on July 9, 1929, the second oldest of ten children, Terry emigrated from County Monaghan, Ireland to Canada in March of 1953. He worked for a short time for E.H. Clark and other farmers in and around the Rosser area before joining the Winnipeg Fire Department in 1954. In 1970, the family purchased a farm where Terry boarded and raised thoroughbred horses. After 30 years with the fire department, he retired due to illness. Since his retirement, he has enjoyed puttering in his garden, horse racing and spending time with his grandchildren. His teasing way, quick wit, never ending sayings and his smiling face will be sadly missed. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, August 25 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Peters Roman Catholic Church, 748 Keewatin St. with Rev. Msgr. Samson and Rev. Fr. R. Prescott presiding. A private family interment will be held at a later date. Funeral Mass in Terence's honor will be held in TyHolland, Ireland on Saturday, September 23. Our family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the Health Sciences Rehabilitation Centre, Seven Oaks General Hospital and the Riverview Health Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations in Terry's memory may be made to the Health Sciences Rehabilitation Centre or to CancerCare Manitoba. Terry's arrangements have been entrusted to the Family Owned Funeral Chapel of: WOJCIK'S ALL BELIEFS FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL CREMATORIUM 897 - 4665
