NICK NASTIUK 1929 - 2006 It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Nick on August 23, 2006 in Edmonton at the age of 77 after a brief but valiant struggle with cancer. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Betty in December 2005; and by his parents John and Anna Nastiuk of Sundown. He is survived by son John and grandson Brett of Edmonton; daughter Darlene of Toronto; brother Bill (Kathleen); sisters Dorothy Harrow, Mary Zadorozny (Peter); Jean Blanchard (Roy), all of Winnipeg. Also late Betty's siblings Bill, Tony, Peter, Adeline and Mary; as well as many nieces and nephews. Nick was born on January 15, 1929 and was raised in Sundown, MB. After graduation he taught in a one room rural school. In 1949 he moved to Windsor where he met Betty and married on July 21, 1951. He was a hardworking and industrious man having a long career with General Electric in Chatham and Windsor as a manager with one of their stores until his retirement. Nick and Betty relocated to Edmonton in 2001 to be near their son and grandson. Both of them were very active in their church in Windsor. They enjoyed many winter holidays in warmer climates. Funeral service to take place in Windsor. In lieu of flowers, if friends and family so desire, donations may be made in Nick's memory to Cancer Care. Arrangements are entrusted to Windsor Chapel Funeral Home, 1700 Tecumseh Road East, Windsor, ON, N8W 1C7.
