WILLIAM JOHN JACK Peacefully, on Tuesday, August 22, 2006 at Vista Park Lodge, William Bill Jack passed away at the age of 96 years. Bill will be missed by his wife of nearly 52 years, Teena; daughter Jane (Greg); son Ken (Sherri) and grandchildren, Kate, Patrick, Andy and Ellie. His sisters, Jean, Ina, Kay and brothers, Dave, Alex, Huey and Neil, with whom he enjoyed curling at the Victoria Curling Club in the winter and the good life at Grand Beach in the summer, predeceased him. Bill was born in Paisley, Scotland on May 18, 1910 and immigrated to Canada with his family at a very young age. He grew up in Weston, attended Cecil Rhodes School, and then apprenticed as a typesetter for Wallingford Press. He worked in the printing industry until the mid 1950s, and later in automobile casualty insurance with the Insurers Advisory Organization until his retirement in 1975. In his senior years, his greatest pleasures were spending time with his family at Victoria Beach and watching his four grandchildren grow up. His family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Vista Park Lodge, 2nd floor, for their compassionate care during his final days. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and a formal service declined. If friends so desire, remembrances of Bill could be made to the Rehabilitation Centre for Children Foundation, 611 Wellington Cres., Winnipeg, MB R3M 0A8 or to a charity of one's choice.
