VELMA YAWORSKI (nee GAWRYLUK) Peacefully, on Thursday, August 24, 2006, with her family at her side, Velma passed away at the Riverview Health Centre, at the age of 83 years. Left with fond memories are her son Ron (Linda); daughter Shirley (Scott); grandchildren, Daniel, Serena and Steven; and brothers and sisters, Mary, Verna, Steve, Bill, Rose, Mike and Kathy; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Velma was predeceased by her husband Albert; brothers, Nick, Pete, John; and sister Vicky. Velma, one of 12 children, was born on April 6, 1923 to Onufrey and Sadie Gawryluk in Theodore, SK. While young, Velma travelled, settling in Winnipeg and marrying Albert in September of 1950. She was a mother to two loving children and a grandmother to three grandchildren who made her life complete. Velma's funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 29 at 1:00 p.m. in Silver Heights United Church, 199 Garrioch Ave. (corner of Mount Royal Road and Ness Avenue). For those who wish, parking will be available in the Seventh-Day Adventist Church parking lot located on Ness Avenue. Interment will take place in Brookside Cemetery, 3001 Notre Dame Ave. A sincere thank you to the wonderful staff at the Riverview Health Centre.
