ROBERT HALLSON With deep sorrow, the family of Robert (Bob) Hallson of Gimli, MB, announces his unexpected death on August 23, 2006 at St. Boniface Hospital, surrounded by those who loved him and whom he loved greatly in this life. Bob, the proverbially John Deere 2 cylinder man, was born on September 20, 1942 in Eriksdale, MB and grew up in Lundar, MB. He spent most of his working life developing his expertise in the sheet metal trade and carrying out his profession as an expert sheet metal worker and supervisor. In 2005, he and his wife, Frances, moved permanently to their home in Gimli, a home and community in which Bob took very great pleasure, a community where he also was able to find and frequent a morning coffee club. An avid Blue Bomber fan and seasonal ticket holder for many years, he also served on the Executive for Touchdown Manitoba for 11 years. Bob is survived by his wife of 24 years, Frances, and by his daughter, Melody (Gordon Cassell), as well as sisters, Jean (Ken) Hartle, Ellen Henry; brothers, Carl (Pat) and Hally (Val); special friends, John and Pat Fjeldsted and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Robert and Helga Hallson and brother-in-law Brian Henry. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 28 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. (south of the Royal Canadian Mint) with a viewing one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place in Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Darryl Hartle, Gordon Cassell, John Fjeldsted, Eugene Tarnopolski, Terry Whitwell and Pat Tarnopolski. Frances and Melody express their heartfelt gratitude to all who have given them so much support and encouragement during this difficult time. Flowers are respectfully declined. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of one's choice. Arrangements entrusted to: GLEN LAWN FUNERAL HOME 455 LAGIMODIERE BLVD. 982-7550
