BRUCE ALEXANDER BOWMAN Peacefully, at St. Boniface General Hospital, after a lengthy battle with cancer, Bruce moved on to his next journey on Thursday, August 24, 2006 when he walked into the light at the age of 67 years Left to mourn his loss are his beloved fiancee Sherry Korolyk; nieces, Morva (husband Alan and son Rhys), Myfawny (husband John and son Bran) and Megan; brother Hugh (wife Margaret and their children); cousin Mef and her husband Murray; his cat Seldom; and many other relatives in Canada and the USA. He was predeceased by his parents; and his brother David. Bruce had a life-long struggle with alcoholism but, with the help of AA, has not only maintained sobriety for more than 20 years, but also sponsored and counseled many others who have suffered from alcohol and substance addictions. His favourite autumn activity was grouse-hunting in South-Eastern Manitoba In keeping with Bruce's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. A gathering of friends and family will take place on Thursday, August 31 at 324 Stradbrook Ave., between 7:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Many thanks to Patti and Sharon of WHRC, Pastoral Care, Marcia and fellow nurses of MICU and E5 at the St. Boniface General Hospital, Keith and Mavis Evans, Linda Orr, Pat Reid, Myfawny Bowman and Bill Korolyk. Flowers are gratefully declined. If friends so desire, donations in Bruce's memory may be made to either the Winnipeg Humane Society or to Quagga's Stray Cat Rescue. God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. Bruce's arrangements have been entrusted to the Family Owned Funeral Chapel of: WOJCIK'S ALL BELIEFS FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL CREMATORIUM 897 - 4665
