ANNIE MAE BINKLEY Annie Mae Binkley (Neilsen) beloved wife of Victor M. Binkley of Kelowna, BC passed away peacefully on August 27, 2006 at 89 years of age. Besides her loving husband of 63 years, she is survived by sister Ellen Manton of Saskatoon SK; brother Gavin Neilsen of Langford, ON; son Bob (Shirley) of Ladner, BC; son Manse (Anna) of Winfield, BC; daughter Laurie (Kevin) of Winnipeg, MB; son Rick (Trish) of Lethbridge, AB; 11 wonderful grandchildren; many cousins and friends. Mae was predeceased by parents, John J. Neilsen, Annie A Neilsen (Thomson); three brothers, Mel, Ray and Mac. Mae was born April 7, 1917 on a small farm in Donavon, SK. The Neilsen family moved from the farm to Saskatoon in 1929 where Mae received all her schooling and met the love of her life, Victor Binkley. They were married September 4, 1943 and soon after that the family began with, the births of Bob and then Manse in Saskatoon. The year of 1953 lead them to Brandon, MB where Laurie and Rick were born. In 2004, Mae and Vic moved to Kelowna. Mae always kept herself busy, she was a great fan of her children watching all their sporting events, loved to garden and manicure her yard, she even found time to obtain her private aircraft license. She loved to entertain family and friends whether it be at their beautiful cottage in Clear Lake or at their condo in Palm Desert. The laughs and stories were plentiful. The family would like to thank Dr. J McIntosh, and all the staff at Orchard Manor for their ongoing advice, compassion and care. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 9 at 4:00 p.m. at the home of Manse and Anna Binkley, 11892 McGowan Road, Winfield, BC.
