VERNA MAVIS SCRIMSHAW (nee FUNK) August 5, 1939 - August 29, 2006 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Verna Mavis Scrimshaw on Tuesday, August 29, 2006 at the age of 67. Mom was predeceased by her beloved husband Doug on January 11, 1993. Left to cherish her memories are children, daughter Brenda (Greg); son Gordon (Darlene), daughter Sandra (Rick), son Gary (Barb); six grandchildren, Michelle, Stacey, Kyle, Larissa, Tyler and Alisha; as well as other close relatives and friends. She was a beautiful, loving and caring person who was devoted to her family. She enjoyed flowers, gardening and shopping. Verna Mavis loved watching her many favorite T.V. programs. Another love of hers was her collection of angels. She cherished the time spent with her family and she will be sadly missed by all those whose lives she touched. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 1 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue. Funeral service will also be held at the chapel on Saturday, September 2 at 12:30 p.m. with viewing held one half hour prior to the service. Interment and reception will follow.
