Florence passed away at the Health Sciences Centre surrounded by you loving family. She will be lovingly missed by her son Raymond; daughter-in-law Janice; grandchildren, Nicole (Clint), Derek (Nic); sisters, Mary and Virgin; special friends, Alice, Wally, Rieta, Sally; and numerous, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Mom had an extra special friend and neighbour Agnes who looked after her when needed but mostly became her constant companion as they enjoyed their almost nightly card games and chit chat sessions. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Clem in May 2004 and her parents, Sam and Pauline. Florence was born August 30, 1934 in Eriskdale, MB. She worked at Superlite as a packer until her eyesight became so bad that she had to leave on disability. She was a member of the Weston Legion No. 2 and enjoyed playing crib, bingo, VLTs and just spending time with her many friends there. She got great joy in her garden and always managed to harvest plentiful crop. She would can dozens of jars of tomatoes to enjoy with her most favourite supper of pork chops. Florence loved spending time with her family and would jump at the chance to skunk anyone at a game of crib. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 5 at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave., Aubrey Street entrance. Interment to follow at Brookside Cemetery. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the doctors and staff at the Health Sciences Centre. Special thanks to nurses Tegan and Joanne moms guardian angels in her final hours. Flowers gratefully declined. A donation can be made in Florence's name to the CNIB, 1080 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3G 3M3. A heart of gold stopped beating Hard-working hands at rest, God broke our hearts to prove to us He only takes the best.
