MARGARET E. (PEGGY) CUTLER (nee OSTRANDER) It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Peggy Cutler, with her family at her side on August 31, 2006 at the Grace Hospital at the age of 86. She is predeceased by her two husbands, Peter Gravel in 1945 and Donald Cutler in 1999; and her parents, Lawrence and Anne Ostrander. Her memory will be forever cherished by her daughter Patti Ross; grandson Peter (Tammy) Russell; great-grandson Gabriel; her sisters, Marilyn Fitzgibbons, Joan (Bill) Johnson and Diane (Gary) Oliphant; sister-in-law Madeleine Dick; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Mom was born on July 11, 1920 in Winnipeg and grew up in the Norwood area. Peggy along with her sisters enjoyed competing in speed skating, winning numerous competitions together. She met and married Peter and together they had a daughter until his untimely passing in 1945. She then met and married Donald and they were together for 45 years, until his passing in 1999. During their time together they moved extensively across Canada with Don's work while Mom also worked for the CIBC for 25 years until her retirement in 1978. They also led a very active social life, enjoyed travelling together and in their later retirement years enjoyed spending time at their cottage at the lake. Mom was a very warm, kind and gentle spirit who made friends easily, family was the most important thing in her life and she always looked forward to the family get togethers over supper. Peggy also enjoyed getting together with her family and friends over a friendly game of poker. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. At Mom's request cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers donations in Peggy's memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
