WILFRED LAMIRANDE SR. (PAPA) Beloved husband of Judy passed away Thursday, August 31, 2006 at the Victoria Hospital, at the age of 64 years. Wilfred leaves to mourn his children, Paula (Wendell) Sorokowski, Juliet (Richard) Morin and Wilf Lamirande Jr.; grandchildren, Amanda and Ryan Sorokowski, Jared and Robert Morin, and Hailea Lamirande. He will also be missed by his brothers, Dennis and Arthur Lamirande; sisters, Anita (Fred) Heidman, Irene (John) Marshalok; his brothers-in-law, Larry, Randy and Richard McKay; sisters-in-law, Laurie and Heather Winkler. Wilfred was predeceased by both his parents, his sisters, Annette Bremner and Shirley Blair; and by his brother Edward Lamirande. Wilfred was a hard working baker until back problems forced him into early retirement. He loved sports, music, and playing his guitar. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Victoria Hospital for the care and compassion they showed Wilfred, and a special thank you to home care nurse Todd Hamlin. Cremation has taken place, and a funeral mass celebrating Wilfred's life will be held on Tuesday, September 5 at 10:00 a.m. in the Holy Family Church, 778 Archibald St., with Fr. Ron Leger officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Boniface Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in memory of Wilfred may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
