MARGARET MARY GREEN (nee HALLIDAY) November 7, 1918 - September 2, 2006 After a life spent helping, healing and teaching, Margaret passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2006 at the Stonewall Hospital. She spent her early years in Saskatchewan and Manitoba. After graduating from Misericordia General Hospital, she worked as a nurse in rural Manitoba. Lloyd (Pete) Green; her parents, Tom and Sadie Halliday; her brothers, Jim and Jack and her sister Jean. Wherever she lived, Margaret was deeply involved in her community and she touched the lives of many people, both young and old with her energy and enthusiasm. After coming to Stonewall, she was a volunteer teacher of kite-making and marionette-making throughout the area. She was involved in arts and crafts and the local library. She volunteered as a friendly visitor for several years, well into her 80's. Those who knew her will remember her for her skills as an artist, her interest in genealogy, her passion for recycling and her love of a good cup of tea. Margaret will be missed by her many friends of all ages, nieces, Karen Kondert, Brenda Cooper and families; Ferne Green and family and by Sharlene Martin, Merle Tomyk and families, who were Margaret's strong support system in the past few years. A memorial service will be held at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall on Monday, September 4 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to South Interlake Palliative Care or a charity of choice.
