JAMES HENRY LLOYD HAMBLIN (LLOYD) 1919 - 2006 On Saturday September 2, 2006 Lloyd Hamblin passed away peacefully in the Morris Hospital, surrounded by his family. He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 61 years, Dorothy (Binding); daughter Marian and Lyle Beattie and their daughters Heather and Colleen; son Don and Rhonda and their sons Brad (Kari) and Keith; son Lorne and Chris and their sons David, Kevin, and Doug. He is also survived by his sisters Winnie Nisely and Irene Calder and brother Tom and their families, and the family of his late brother Ed. Lloyd was born June 18, 1919 in the Woodmore area to Fred and Emily (Pott) Hamblin. The Hamblins moved to farm in the St. Jean area in 1935. He and Dorothy were married in 1945 and they continued farming, later bringing their sons into the operation. Lloyd's life revolved around his family and the joy he found with them, sharing his passion for farming, fishing, hunting, and cribbage. He loved nature and all animals. He always had treats in his pocket, not just for his grandkids, but also for the pets in the family. Lloyd was one of the founders of the Manitoba Stampede and Exhibition, and took pleasure in seeing the success of this event. He was honoured in 1984 with his inclusion into the Red Hat Club. He was also honoured as a Life Member of the Morris Curling Club, and recognized by Scouts Canada. He was a long time member of the Masons and Eastern Star. Lloyd had a wonderful sense of humour, and loved to play tricks on his numerous nephews and nieces, children and grandchildren. Anyone who played crib would have to have a watchful eye as he was quick to pull a fast one if he could get away with it. The family would like to thank Drs. Fraser and Loewen, and the staff at the Morris Hospital, for their care and compassion. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Valley Regional Library, Box 397, Morris, Mb R0G 1K0. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday September 6 at the Morris United Church (corner of Lucinda St. and Ottawa Ave.) Morris Funeral Home 746-2451 Toll Free 1-866-746-2451
