BERTHA IRENE STARR Peacefully, in the early evening of Saturday, September 2, 2006, Bertha Starr, aged 72, passed away at Selkirk General Hospital. She is survived by her sisters: Flora Letander (Wallace), Christina Bird, Grace Wozney (John) and by her brothers: George, John and Walter Starr. She was predeceased by her parents: Henry James (Jim) and Flora Starr; sisters Lucille Bruyere, Muriel Fontaine; brothers Cecil and Douglas Starr. Wake services commenced on the evening of Sunday, September 3 at Christ Anglican Church, Sagkeeng First Nation; funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 6 also at the church. Interment will follow after the service. Revs. Nancy and Richard Bruyere officiating. Pallbearers will be her nephews: Kelvin Fontaine, John Letander, Billy Bird, Jonathan Starr, Gary Bruyere and Philip Starr. Honorary Pallbearers are her best friends: Wilfred Canard, Stanley Bird, Verdine Boyd and Henry Letander. The family thanks Lori and the nursing staff at Selkirk General Hospital for the wonderful care that they provided to Bertha during her illness. A special thank you to the Kent family members for their support.
