PHYLLIS FELINA HERTZ (TRYBEL) 1932 - 2006 With heavy sadness in our hearts we announce the passing of our beautiful and precious Mom and Granny. Held lovingly in the arms of her family Mom passed away on September 1, 2006 after a courageous battle with cancer. Mom was predeceased by her husband John, who was the love of her life and eternal soulmate; and her parents Joseph and Anastasia Trybel. Mom leaves to mourn her children, whom she cherished with all her heart, Diane Nimik, Charlene Hertz (Jake Tremblay), Marianne (Jim) Petaski, John (Debby) Hertz and her grandchildren Kyle, Cory, Deanna, Jadine, and Blake. Mom also leaves to mourn her brother John (Denise) and family. She will be dearly missed and will remain close to the hearts of all her family and friends. Mom was born on September 17, 1932 in Malontan, MB. The family lived in Winnipeg Beach until Mom was eight years old and then moved to Selkirk where she grew up. Later on in life Mom met Dad and they married on July 3, 1954. They made their home in Selkirk where they raised their family and spent more than 50 wonderful years of marriage together. Mom loved her flowers, gardening, camping, fishing, travelling and loved to cook. She was a nurturing and compassionate woman. She had a special way of finding that silver lining in any dark cloud. She faced her battle with cancer with courage and grace. As soft as the brush of an angel's wings As sweet as an angel's song Within her heart a love for us so pure, caring and strong. As nurturing and life giving as the mighty rivers that flow These are the ways of our Mother's love that bless her children so. Honorary pallbearers are her beloved grandchildren, Kyle, Cory, and Deanna Nimik and Jadine and Blake Hertz. The family would like to thank the nursing staff and doctors at the Selkirk General Hospital and the Concordia Hospital Oncology Department. Thank you to Fr. Jerry Talarski. Special thanks to Debbie and Melanie in the Chemotherapy Lab in Selkirk. We would also like to thank the home care workers, and neighbours and friends who helped care for Mom. A memorial mass will be held on Thursday, September 7 at 2:00 p.m. in the Notre Dame Catholic Church in Selkirk, Manitoba. Flowers may be sent to Gilbart's Funeral Home in Selkirk. Donations may be made in Mom's memory to Cancer Care Manitoba. Mom....you will always be in our hearts. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
