ANN ZIMMERMAN It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Ann Zimmerman at the age of 93 years, on August 31, 2006. Ann's memory will be forever cherished by her daughter Louise Whyte, granddaughters Laurie Marion (Claude), Kelly Lys (Robert); great-grandchildren, Danielle, Justin, Melanie, Jordan, Cameron, Amber, Justin Lys, as well as special people in her life Sharon, Danny, Theresa and Elizabeth and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Ann is survived by two sisters, Donelda Mausure of Chicago and Rose Danylchuk of Winnipeg, sister-in-law Helen Budz of Solsgirth and brother-in-law Paul Zimmerman (Phyllis) of Brandon. She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, John, in 1994; her parents, Yorko in 1940 and Palahia in 1963; brothers Charlie, John, Anton, Alex, Thomas, Stephen and sisters Margaret, Nettie and Gladys. Ann was born in Angusville on November 5, 1912. She married John in 1934 and they operated a general store and post office in Marco and a general store in Solsgirth moving to Winnipeg in 1955. Her last year was spent at the Villa Cabrini where she made many new friends. Ann was a devout Catholic and a member of Holy Family Parish and the Ukrainian Catholic Women's League. The family gratefully acknowledges the support and kindness of the staff at the St. Boniface Hospital and Poseidon Health Care Centre. Prayers will be held on Wednesday, September 6, at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Family Parish, 1001 Grant Ave. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday, September 7, at 10:00 a.m., also at Holy Family Parish, with Father Mark Gnutel officiating. Interment to follow in Thompson In The Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. May her memory be eternal. Vichnaya Pam'yat.
