MARY MELVIN ROGERS (nee FRASER) August 2, 1922 - September 3, 2006 Peacefully, on Sunday, September 3, 2006, at the Pinawa Hospital, Mary passed away with her family by her side. Mary is survived by her loving husband of 63 years of marriage Bill; her sister-in-law and life long friend Violet Fraser; daughter Lyn (Paul); granddaughter Kari (David); great-granddaughter Leiva; grandson Jeff (Suzanne); her sons, Bruce (Sandi); grandson Michael; Donald (Rhonda) and grandsons Cameron and Braden; as well as many friends and relatives. She was predeceased by her parents Margaret and Charles Fraser and her brother Alexander (Sandy) Fraser. Mom was born and raised in Winnipeg. She married Dad on June 26, 1943 and they spent their honeymoon at Lee River Falls. They raised their children in Winnipeg but spent their summers at the cottage, and in later years, their retirement home on Lee River. Mary enjoyed participating fully in the many summer and winter activities at the cottage and was a committed volunteer in her community. She delighted in having family and friends at their country home, and no crowd was ever too large to be welcomed and served by Mrs. Jar . Next to her family, her greatest love was the companionship of the many dogs she cared for over the years, and in her time of illness, there was always one special doggie to watch over her. A celebration of Mom's life will be held on Friday, September 8 at 3:00 p.m. in the Lutheran Church of the Cross, Lac du Bonnet, MB. The family would like to extend its sincere appreciation for the loving care and understanding extended towards Mary by Dr Van Gend and the nursing staff at the Pinawa Hospital, and the staff of NEHA. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations in Mary's memory may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent Street, Winnipeg, MB R2L 1X3. Mary's arrangements have been entrusted to the Family Owned Funeral Chapel of: WOJCIK'S ALL BELIEFS FAITHS FUNERAL CHAPEL CREMATORIUM 897 - 4665
