JOHN MELDRUM SR. We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of John on Friday, September 1, 2006, ate the Health Scinces Centre at the age of 80 years. Left with fond memories are his loving wife Jean; son John (Mary) and his two favourite grandsons , John Patrick and Cameron, all of Victoria, BC; his sister Phemie and her family in Scotland; as well as numerous friends and neighbours. In 1953, John and Jean were married and came to Canada from Scotland soon after. Upon arriving in Winnipeg, he worked for the Winnipeg One School Division for many years until his retirement in 1990. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. There was nothing he enjoyed more than spending time with his grandsons. John was a kind and caring man - a true gentleman who will be greatly missed by all those who had the good fortune to know him. John's funeral service will be held on Friday, September 8 at 10:30 a.m. in Silver Heights United Church, 199 Garrioch Ave. (corner of Mount Royal Road and Ness Avenue). For those who wish, parking will be available in the Seventh-Day Adventist Church parking lot located on Ness Avenue. A private family interment will be held in the Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Ave. Our family would like to thank Mike and Alice Parisien and their girls who were a tremendous support to John and Jean in recent years. We will always be grateful for the gift of their kindness.
