Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANTON OTTENBREIT 1901 - 2006 Peacefully, in his sleep, on September 4, 2006 at the Beausejour Health Centre, Anton passed away at the age of 105. He is survived by his three sons, Ernie (Marge) and their children, Cheryl, Leah (Brian), Carleen and her daughter Shayna, Holly and her son Daniel; Leonard (Kim); Richard (Sandy) and their children, Kim (Rick) and Keri; his daughter Phyllis and her family, daughter-in-law Leslie and grandchildren, Cameron and Kendra. He was predeceased by his wife Mary; grandson Bruce; son-in-law Wally; parents, John and Christina; brother John; and sisters, Katie and Caroline. He was born in Bekersdorf, Austria in 1901 and immigrated to Canada with his family in 1904. They settled on a farm in the Cromwell area. He married Mary Kazina in 1932 and they had 72 wonderful years together. After his retirement they moved to the town of Beausejour where he continued his involvement in the community as an organizer and volunteer. He gave freely of his time and effort for which he received numerous trophies and awards including the Queen's Jubilee Medal in 2002. He always said the reason for his long life was hard work, community involvement, family and friends. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Monday, September 11, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Atlantic Avenue and Third Street S., Beausejour, MB with Rev. Fr. David Brabant presiding. Interment will follow at the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, if friends and family so desire, donations in Anton's memory may be made to Stony Plains Terrace, c/o East Gate Lodge, Box 1690, Beausejour, MB R0E 0C0.
