Jean was born May 27, 1929 in Pine Creek, MB. Jean, with her sister Margaret, began her career working as nurses' aides at the Portage General Hospital. She spent many enjoyable years working and caring for others. Upon her retirement, Jean and Murray returned to Portage la Prairie, and opened a market garden where they enjoyed many years of camaraderie with their friends and customers. As avid travellers, new friends were made wherever they ventured. Jean gave many years of dedication and service with the Kinnette Club of Winnipeg, and was recognized as a life member. Throughout her life, Jean also volunteered and served on many community groups; most recently at the Herman Prior Centre helping out wherever she could. She also enjoyed many hours of social activities. Enjoying life at the Windsor Estates gave Jean many more opportunities to build new friendships and enjoy the community spirit of the complex. The family wishes to extend its sincere heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the dedicated caregivers of the St. Boniface Hospital SICU, and Cardiac Step Down Ward as well as Jean's physician Dr. Gray of the Portage General Hospital.
