VIVIAN IDELL MACKENZIE Surrounded by her family, Vivian Idell MacKenzie, aged 93 years, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 6, 2006. Vivian was born in Balmoral on July 14, 1913 to Sidney and Rose Holloway and lived her entire life there. Vivian was always proud that her Dad started the local funeral home which is still run by her family today. She married Alexander MacKenzie on August 3, 1940 and in 1946 their son Ross was born. Vivian was an active member in St. Peter's Anglican Church and a teacher for many years at the Balmoral Union Sunday School. Vivian was an excellent cook. She loved to entertain friends and have the family over for supper. Vivian liked flowers and birds and enjoyed watching the hummingbirds and other birds come to her feeders. Before Alex passed away, they took many trips around the world visiting relatives. Grammie took great pride in her granddaughters and later her great-grandsons became her pride and joy. Vivian was predeceased by her husband Alex; son Ross; sisters, Ainsley (Reginald) Main, Marjorie (Robert) Main; brother Richard (Evelyn) Holloway. Survived to mourn her loss, daughter-in-law Lois; granddaughters, Shari (Dave), Roshelle (Joe); great-grandsons, Cameron and Bryce; brother-in-law Cameron and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held at the MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, Stonewall on Tuesday, September 12 at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Kenn Garrity will officiate. Interment will follow at the Stonewall Cemetery. The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses at the Teulon Hospital for all the compassionate care given to Vivian during her stay. Also thank-you to all the home care workers who helped Vivian stay in her home these last few years. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Teulon-Hunter Memorial Hospital. MacKenzie Funeral Home, Stonewall in care of arrangements.
