FREDERICK MARCHELLO FRIENDLY FRED Your Painter and Decorator 1914 - 2006 It is with sadness that the family of Frederick Marchello announces his passing on September 6, 2006 at the Deer Lodge Centre in Winnipeg. He is predeceased by his brothers, Alex, Mike and John. He leaves behind his son Rick (Zahra) and daughter Cindy (Tim) as well as his brother Steve (Joan) and his sister Mary (Jack) Mitchell, nieces, nephews and all of his friends. A veteran of the Second World War, Fred spent his entire life living and working in Winnipeg as 'Friendly Fred the Painter'. In 1951, he married Jean Stouffer and they had two children, which are their pride and joy. In retirement, Fred spent his time feeding his animals and playing his new found love, golf. When his eyesight failed him and he could no longer play, he started attending the Charleswood Day Club where he made many new friends and attended for over ten years. Fred had a strong old school work ethic and was ahead of his time with his craft. He lived a long and hardy life, exhibiting a strong spirit. He faced his blindness, old age and illness with those same qualities. The family wishes to thank the caring staff of Tower Seven, Deer Lodge Centre who gave him the best of care. A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 11 at 12:30 p.m. from the Chapel Lawn Funeral Home 4000 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB. Reception will follow.
