Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARY STROME December 4, 1913 - August 30, 2006 Suddenly, at her home on August 30, 2006, Mary passed away at the age of 92. Mary Strome was born in 1913 in rural Manitoba where she spent her youth and taught dance. She joined the Canadian Women's Army Corps in 1942 in ordinance, but because of her background ended up in the Army Show unit 17. Mary went overseas to entertain the troops on the battlefronts, which was a highlight of her life. On her return Mary got her teaching certificates from the Royal Winnipeg Ballet, and taught at her own studios on St. Mary's Road until she retired at 65. She sure didn't retire from life, as she liked to say she was out and about every day visiting hospitals, nursing homes, and friends with homemade treats. Mary was predeceased by here sister Effie Klan and her brother John Strombitski. She will be sadly missed by her nephew Pat (Joy) Klan of Emerson and their son Shaun of Winnipeg, and niece Paula Klan of Winnipeg. Mary will also be remembered by Art (Lori) Klan with their daughters, Erika and Kim. A graveside service has been held; Donations in Mary's name may be made to a charity of your choice. Now she's making shortbread and rocky road for the angels and keeping them on their toes Rest peacefully Auntie Mary - you were loved CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME AND RECEPTION CENTRE 885-9715
