Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryC.R.V. (RON) SWAFFER Peacefully on Monday, September 4, 2006, Ron passed away at St. Boniface Hospital. Ron was born in Winnipeg on May 8, 1935 and was employed by Eaton's for over 40 years. He was very active in car racing, bowling, curling, cottage, gardening and family get togethers. He enjoyed his outings as a ticket holder for the Jets and Moose and travelled to Hawaii, Europe, Mexico, Alaska and with the Eaton's Retirement Club. Ron continued these activities long after his retirement. Ron is survived by his wife Maureen (Edwards) of 41 years and his son Jim. He leaves to mourn his mother Isabelle Swaffer and mother-in-law Margaret Edwards; his sister Audrey (Don) Harder of Carlisle, ON; brother Ken (Madeline); sister Elaine Franks; brothers, Don, Bob (Grace); brothers-in-law, Gary of Winnipeg, Ralph (Kathryn) of Calgary and sister-in-law Colleen Edwards (Robin McKay) of Ottawa and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his daughter Gail and son-in-law John Ashton in 1998; also his father Vic in 1979; father-in-law Geo Edwards in 1983; brother-in-law Jim Franks in 2002; sister-in-law Sheila Swaffer in 2006. In accordance with Ron's wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Ron's Life will be held on Monday, September 11 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church, 264 Donwood, North Kildonan with Deacon Lawrence Wakaruk officiating. Interment to follow in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens, 4477 Main St. Special thanks to the staff of Palliative Care at St. Boniface Hospital.
